The 101 on Scatter Cushions

Does your interior look like it needs sprucing up a little? Placing an assortment of scatter cushions within a scheme is a great way to bring all the elements of a room together and create a brand-new look that doesn’t cost a fortune.

1. Select a colour palette

Choosing a colour palette is really important and, the first step to do when deciding to add scatter cushions to your home.

Looking around the room that you want to spruce up and, identify a few accent colours that you’d like to bring into the room. Choose your cushions in a couple of shades of this colour or varying patterns in the same tone.

2. Mix & Match styles in various textures

When clashing prints be sure to include one base colour that features on all your chosen cushions. This will help tie the look together beautifully. Prints in neutral tones are also great when oversized and tend to not overpower a setting.

You can also introduce interest by choosing a selection of both large and small-scale designs and complement them alongside solid-colour cushions.

3. Different cushion shapes and sizes

Cushions are available in all different types of shapes and sizes, so don’t be afraid to combine multiple variations to create the most eye-catching arrangement.

Try and keep larger cushions in subtle patterned, neutral designs to the back of your display and to use smaller cushions with more intricate, livelier designs to the front.
